Community Supported Agriculture
I've been looking into Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) as a source of healthy, local food. I've found some farms in our area using http://www.localharvest.org/csa/. If you are looking for a good source of locally grown vegetables and fruits I would recommend checking out this site.

CSA can be a good deal for the share holder but realize you will be daling with a lot of raw food and will have to know how to store and cook the bounty of the CSA.
When I was running a CSA a huge issue was the difference between what we farmers want and what the members want.
we farmers want the CSA to be a way for the members to reconnect with food and farming which for most of us means the members come to the farm at least once or twice a year and in some cases every week.
It seems members want local food but want as little to do with the farm as possible and far perfer delivery to on farm pick-up. This does make it conveinent for the members but pretty much destroys the original intent of CSA of connecting people to the farm.
In my experience if you want to really connect with a farm find a good farmers' market-http://www.Localharvest.org has a huge data base of farmers' markets-as you will likely spend more time with farmers than you will in a CSA where you may well never see the farmer nor the farm.
