Community Supported Agriculture

I've been looking into Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) as a source of healthy, local food. I've found some farms in our area using http://www.localharvest.org/csa/. If you are looking for a good source of locally grown vegetables and fruits I would recommend checking out this site.

Green Houses

I came across a few websites that specialize in selling sustainable houses. Not a lot of homes listed yet but hopefully the the listings will grow.

Organic Food

Our family loves the weekly trip to Whole Foods. We usually have lunch there and then shop. The selection is great and there is always a huge variety of organic fruits vegetables and meat but… it gets expensive really quick. Does anybody have thoughts on other ways to find healthy, locally grown produce and meat? Do you know of any good websites or catalogs? We also hit the farmers market during the summer and fall but it’s over now. Thanks.

Going Green

The purpose of this blog is to share ideas on how to live in a more sustainable way. This has been an interest of mine for a few years and fortunately it seems to be gaining publicity. Several of the magazines I read such as Business 2.0, Fast Company, Forbes, Men's Health and Dwell seem to have more and more articles on "green" products and design, ways to lower your "carbon footprint" or ideas on how to feel better based on "natural" and "organic living". Even though I've been making incremental changes over the past few years I feel like I'm just getting started on the "green" journey and hope that we can use this blog to share ideas on how to reduce our impact on the earth and live a healthier life.
